Jasper Quince was born and raised in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. From a young age, he exhibited a notable gift for storytelling, often surprising his teachers with imaginative yet structured narratives. Throughout his high school years, Jasper excelled in honors classes, where he developed his writing skills into substantial works under the mentorship of best-selling author and editor Winslow Eliot. At the age of 18, he was accepted into Salem State University, pursuing a degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and Traditional Photography. In addition to his studies, Jasper contributed articles to the school newspaper and its online platform. Furthermore, he served as an editor for “Soundings East.”
Jasper has participated in performance poetry workshops led by the esteemed poet Taylor Mali and had the privilege of meeting the late Lucille Clifton at The Dodge Poetry Festival. He has also attended readings by renowned authors and poets, including January O’Neill, Michael Weaver, JD Scrimgeour, Rebecca Lindenberg, Katherine Howe, and Bill Belichick. Additionally, he has collaborated with musicians such as Wayne Coyne from The Flaming Lips.
Jasper’s poetry has been published in various formats, including online platforms, anthologies, and magazines such as Images, Famous Poets of The Heartlands, and RedSkies. His poem, Nuclear Explosion, was recorded for audio presentation. Among his literary inspirations are Frank Herbert, Jeff VanderMeer, Blake Crouch, Hermann Hesse, George Orwell, Haruki Murakami, Mo Yan, Stephen King, John Steinbeck, and Richard Fariña.
Jasper currently resides in San Diego, California with his wife Kandice, Luna the cat, and a Frenchie named Phoebe Michaels.
